Anxiety Treatment

Anxiety can feel like it is running your life, but it doesn't have to. I offer effective, neuroscience-informed treatment for anxiety and panic that addresses root causes, not just symptoms.

Understanding Anxiety

Anxiety is your nervous system on high alert when it doesn’t need to be. It’s a matter of survival that we have a nervous system that can warn us when there is truly a threat - but when we are regularly feeling fearful, dread, ruminations or worry, it robs us of peace, joy and sometimes even health.

You might be struggling with:

  • Worrying and ruminations
  • Panic attacks
  • Social anxiety
  • Performance anxiety
  • Health anxiety
  • Phobias

Why Traditional Approaches Often Fall Short

Many anxiety treatments focus only on managing symptoms through coping skills or challenging thoughts. While these tools can be quite useful in managing difficult moments, they don’t always address the full reality of anxiety which is a nervous system experience, not just a thought experience. My goal in the treatment of anxiety isn’t just to give you coping skills - it’s to reduce the experience of anxiety itself - so that it is less intense and less frequent.

My Approach to Anxiety Treatment

From a foundation of knowledge of the mind-body-brain connection, developmental trauma and attachment theory, I tailor anxiety treatment depending on the individual needs of the client, often pulling from the following modalities: EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing.

What to Expect

We’ll start by understanding your anxiety—its patterns, triggers, and history. I’ll teach you skills to manage symptoms while we work on deeper healing. Many clients notice significant improvement as we process the experiences underlying their anxiety.
